About NICEST’23
National Conference on “Innovations in Civil Engineering Through Sustainable Technologies (NICEST’23)” is organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, MGIT. The inaugural conference, NICEST‘18, was held in February, 2018. Subsequently, the Conference is held every year on thrust areas of research related to sustainability. It is being organized with main focus on enabling researchers, academicians, and industry experts to exchange ideas and share knowledge to lead society towards sustainable development. This conference facilitates a platform to present ideas and discuss future R&D requirements that would enhance sustainable development in Civil Engineering, which is a commendable topic as natural resources are declining rapidly with the intensification of technological and infrastructural expansion. The department of Civil Engineering, MGIT has taken up the responsibility to bring best of the academicians, researchers, and industry experts to discuss these issues at a single venue, to come up with feasible solutions by organizing a national conference.
About MGIT
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) founded by Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society (CBES) in 1997, has grown rapidly since its inception on a serene and tranquil landscape at Gandipet, Hyderabad. MGIT is one of the premier Engineering Colleges in the self-financing category in Telangana. MGIT is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and the institute has recently received accreditation for 3 years for all 8 B Tech Programs from the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. The institute is also accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. MGIT is ranked among the top 100 at all India level, top 50 in South India, and top 2 in the state of Telangana. MGIT received ISTE best chapter award for AP section 2012 at 42nd ISTE annual convention for the overall leadership and quantum of activities. The college offers 11 undergraduate and 7 post graduation programs.
Civil Engineering Department
The Civil Engineering Department offers UG program in Civil Engineering accredited by NBA and PG program in Computer Aided Structural Engineering. The department is bestowed with well-equipped laboratories, highly qualified and dedicated faculty with rich experience, skilled and committed supporting staff. The department provides internships to students in various companies in public and private sector organizations. Department offers consultancy in structural design, material testing and field investigations. The department is engaged in an industry-institute partnership to exchange the latest development in the field of Civil Engineering. The Civil Engineering Association (CEA) of MGIT organizes many co-curricular activities for students to update their knowledge to suit the industry.
